Ballet-based, high energy style of dance that has evolved to incorporate many other dance genres.  Jazz is seen mostly on stage and screen.  Students will gain strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.  Focus on body isolations, turns, leaps, and jumps.

Intro Jazz
Ages 6 & up

Basics of jazz are introduced including, but not limited to, jazz squares, isolations (moving just one part of the body), chaine turns, spotting, basic leaps, and jumps.

Female Attire:  Tights or blacks leggings, and form fitting shirt or leotard. 
Male Attire:  Attire for all males in dance programming is non-restrictive, athletic clothing.
Shoes:  Black slip-on jazz shoes required.

Jazz 1

Increased emphasis on body isolations, pirouettes, balance  and more intricate  turns leaps and jumps.

Female Attire:  Tights or blacks leggings, and form fitting shirt or leotard. 
Male Attire:  Attire for all males in dance programming is non-restrictive, athletic clothing.
Shoes:  Black slip-on jazz shoes required.

Jazz 2

Increased emphasis on Jazz 1 steps and combinations, reinforcing technique, spotting with turns and isolation, and more intricate combinations. Learning to incorporate arm movement with footwork combinations.

Female Attire:  Tights or blacks leggings, and form fitting shirt or leotard. 
Male Attire:  Attire for all males in dance programming is non-restrictive, athletic clothing.
Shoes:  Black slip-on jazz shoes required.
