Intro Tap
Ages 5-Adult

An introduction to stamps, stomps, shuffles, and more.  Emphasis on counting steps, keeping a beat, and learning rhythm. Classes accommodate those with some tap experience and those with little or no tap experience. This class is progressive in nature and prepares the student for Tap 1.

Female Attire: Leotard and tights or black leggings and leotard or form fitting shirt/top.
Male Attire:
  Attire for all males in dance programming is non-restrictive, athletic clothing.
Shoes:
  Males of all ages and levels must wear black Oxfords. Females- black Mary Janes tap shoes.

Tap 1

Greater focus on timing and rhythm to music, and working on tempo changes. Introduced: time steps, military time steps, maxi fords, Shirley Temples, and learning to incorporate arms with footwork.

Requirements: Mustt have a minimum of one year of tap experience and instructor permission from the previous level.

Female Attire: Knees must be covered by tights or black leggings.  Form-fitting shirt or leotard. No oversized shirts or sweatshirts.
Male Attire:
  Attire for all males in dance programming is non-restrictive, athletic clothing.
Shoes:
  Males of all ages and levels must wear black Oxfords. Females-Black Mary Jane tap shoes.

Tap 2-4

Tap 2: Greater focus on technique, increasing speed, and perfecting time-steps and across-the-floor combinations.  Wings, pullbacks, and turns will be taught.  Also, great for adults who tapped when they were younger and would like to continue with class!

Tap 3 & 4: Greater emphasis on intricate footwork and combinations, increasing speed, tempo changes, and perfecting time steps and across-the-floor combinations.  Included: drawbacks, wings, and refining technique.  Both rhythm-style and Broadway-style tap will be taught. 

Shoes: Black oxford tap shoes required.
Female Attire:
