Tumbling Classes

Instruction exclusively on the spring floor, foam strip, trampoline, TumblTrak, air floor, and AirTrak.  To see the skills will be covered, please see our tumbling skill sheet. For info about learning the back handspring, click here.

Attire: Leotard, t-shirt, sports bra, athletic shorts, or sweatpants with elastic waistband or drawstring.  No pockets.  Shirts must be completely tucked in. 

Shoes: Bare feet, or clean and dry cheerleading shoes (do not wear outside).

Beginner 1
Coed Ages 5+

Participants will master the essential skills of tumbling: handstands, bridges, cartwheels, and roundoffs. In addition, tumblers will also spend 15-20 minutes on trampoline or tumbltrak, and 10 minutes on drills to learn back handsprings.

Beginner 2

Requirements: Must have passed Beginner 1 Tumbling or Level 1 of the Intro Gymnastics classes.

Intermediate

This class will focus on roundoff back handspring, roundoff multiple backhandsprings, and roundoff back handspring back tuck.

Requirements: Must have passed Beginner 2 tumbling. May also schedule an evaluation to prove mastery of the following skills on the floor without a spot: 1) standing back handspring without spot and 2) power hurdle roundoff with powerful rebound; and skills on trampoline and tumbltrak.

Front Tumbling 1

Front handspring, front handspring stepouts, dive rolls, front tucks, and front tuck stepouts. 

Requirements: Must have passed Beginner 2 tumbling. May also schedule an evaluation to prove mastery of the following skills on the floor without a spot: 1) standing back handspring and 2) power hurdle roundoff with powerful rebound; as well as skills on trampoline and tumbltrak.

Advanced
& Expert

This tumbling class is open to both advanced and expert tumblers.  Advanced tumblers will focus on perfecting layouts and standing tucks on floor.  Expert tumblers will focus on fulls, arabians, and whips. 

All participants in advanced tumbling classes receive free open workouts while enrolled in the class. 

Requirements: Must have passed Intermediate tumbling. May also schedule an evaluation to prove mastery of the following skills on the floor without a spot: 1) standing two back handsprings and 2) roundoff - back handspring - back tuck; as well as skills on trampoline and tumbltrak.

Master

Master class focus on multiple twists, specialty passes, and standing fulls.  When enrollment is expected to be low, expert tumblers may be invited to participate.

Enrolled tumblers receive free open workouts.

Requirements: Must have passed Expert tumbling. May also schedule an evaluation to prove mastery of the following skills on the floor without a spot: 1) roundoff - back handspring - full, 2) standing tuck onto 8" mat, and 3) running whip through to tuck; as well as skills on trampoline and tumbltrak.
